FHS Africa 2027 will now take place on 28–29 April 2027 at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala, Uganda, according to an announcement from the organiser, The Bench. The Future Hospitality Summit Africa was originally scheduled for 2–3 February 2027. Anyone who planned around the earlier dates will need to update their diaries.
The change is more than a calendar shuffle. The organisers describe it as a strategic decision to align the summit with the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE), Uganda’s flagship tourism trade show. The aim is to bring the international hospitality investment community closer to Uganda’s tourism industry. The new schedule follows consultation with industry stakeholders and partners. It is meant to build momentum around Uganda’s tourism and hospitality proposition.
For delegates, sponsors and partners, FHS Africa 2027 is a focused chance to meet investors, hotel owners, operators, developers and tourism leaders in one place. If you are scouting new markets, seeking capital, or building strategic partnerships, this hospitality investment summit in Kampala is designed to turn conversations into tangible business opportunities.
The move pairs two platforms that serve Uganda’s tourism and hospitality sectors. Matthew Weihs, Chief Development Officer at The Bench, says the alignment will bring the hospitality investment and tourism communities closer together. It will also put a stronger spotlight on opportunities emerging across Uganda and the wider region.
Juliana Kagwa, CEO of the Uganda Tourism Board, sees the pairing as a way to strengthen the connection between destination promotion and hospitality investment. She says it can create a platform that showcases Uganda to the world and supports sustainable growth across tourism and hospitality.
POATE is listed for 6–8 May 2027 at Speke Resort, shortly after the summit. Together, the two events give visitors an investment-focused programme followed by a tourism trade show in the same destination.
The summit is hosted at Speke Resort Munyonyo, which is already familiar to Uganda’s tourism industry. The Uganda Tourism Board organises POATE annually and typically hosts it at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala. The resort’s convention centre sits within a hospitality and events complex of more than 105 acres on the shores of Lake Victoria. The surrounding properties offer a private beach, gardens and a marina.
The venue has hosted large gatherings before. The 10th POATE, held in May 2026, gathered more than 350 Ugandan exhibitors and 120 buyers from 40 countries. That makes it a proven setting for events that need meeting space, accommodation and networking in one location.
The programme will feature high-level discussions and networking on the trends, partnerships and investment prospects shaping hospitality across Africa. According to the organisers, the summit will bring together the capital, expertise and decision-makers needed for the next phase of hospitality development. It will also highlight Uganda’s role as a gateway to the wider East African region.
The Bench has been delivering investment forums in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America for more than two decades. Its guiding principle is dealmaking. Expect a format built around meetings and relationships rather than presentations alone. You can see more of its work at the bench.
The line-up announced so far includes:

2. Strategic Partner: IHG Hotels & Resorts
3. Headline Sponsors: ACT, CityBlue Hotels, Hansgrohe, HVS and Rotana

The summit comes as Uganda’s tourism sector grows. The Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities reports that international arrivals rose 19.7% in 2025 to 1,642,215 visitors, about 106% of 2019 levels, with record receipts of UGX 5,829.2 billion.
Regional travel is strong as well. More than 750,000 visitors travelled between Uganda and Kenya in 2025.
Uganda is also preparing for a major sporting event. The AFCON PAMOJA finals 2027 will be hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania from 19 June to 17 July 2027. CAF says it is the first AFCON hosted by three countries and an opportunity to reach more than 400 million people in East Africa.
