Tunisia-based fintech startup, My Easy Transfer, has secured a $423,000 investment from 216 Capital. The company, founded in 2022 by Ismaïl Khenissi and Jabrane Khenissi, focuses on simplifying money transfer services for the Tunisian diaspora sending funds to their families in Tunisia. This funding will empower the company to enhance its platform and transition into a versatile superapp, as well as expand its presence in Tunisia and other African markets.

Press Release: Given that nearly 2 million Tunisians live abroad, the Tunisian diaspora is an increasingly significant resource for the country’s economy. By the end of 2023, it is expected that money transfers from the diaspora will reach 10 billion dinars.

In line with its dedication to supporting value-driven enterprises in Tunisia, 216 Capital has invested 400,000 euros in the Franco-Tunisian startup My Easy Transfer, which facilitates secure money transfers from the diaspora.

The fintech journey began with the Khenissi brothers, Ismaïl and Jabrane, who are IT and finance professionals with extensive experience in major international banks in the UK, France, and Africa. They established their fintech in March 2022 with the objective of streamlining money transfer services for their community and leveraging their expertise to serve their nation and fellow citizens. In just one year, My Easy Transfer has achieved significant growth, serving over 10,000 customers.

Dhekra Khelifi, Partner at 216 Capital, states, “My Easy Transfer holds tremendous potential, with the capacity to revolutionize the financial transfer landscape and provide faster, more cost-effective solutions for users.”

This fundraising marks a significant milestone in the startup’s history, as it aims to expand its platform to fulfill all the financial needs of the diaspora, encompassing money transfers, mobile top-ups, and bill payments, all within a single mobile application. My Easy Transfer also plans to transform its model into the first payment Super App for the diaspora, reinforcing its presence in Tunisia through new partnerships and expanding into new African markets such as Morocco, Mali, Senegal.

Ismail Khenissi, co-founder of My Easy Transfer, expressed, “Our objective is to grant every Tunisian living abroad the ability to manage all their financial transactions to Tunisia directly from their smartphone via our platform.”
