Josiah Akinloye, born on May 9, 1994, stands at the forefront of Africa’s technological transformation. As the Founder and CEO of Mainlogix Technology, he leads groundbreaking innovation in artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), focusing on smart home automation tailored to African markets. His latest innovation, SMART, is a multilingual voice assistant that supports local languages, bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and cultural accessibility.

Under his leadership, Mainlogix has earned widespread recognition, including accolades at the African Tech Awards for its pioneering work in hardware innovation.

Academic Foundation and Birth of Mainlogix Technology

Josiah’s passion for technology ignited early with a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the prestigious Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in 2015. Years later, in October 2019, Josiah launched Mainlogix Technology, a smart home automation solution that integrates IoT platforms. Its innovative solution enables the control and management of over 100,000 smart devices from various manufacturers through a single system, simplifying the user experience and redefining digital living in African homes and businesses.

In January 2024, Mainlogix unveiled SMART, a customizable voice assistant that supports multilingual commands, including indigenous African languages. Users can personalise the assistant’s name and use it to: Control smart devices, Set reminders, play music, and Access information.

His thirst for knowledge led him to earn a Master’s in Biomedical/Medical Engineering in 2022 from Bell’s University of Technology. This was followed by an MBA from Nexford University in 2023. This blend of engineering and business expertise laid the groundwork for his entrepreneurial journey.

Beyond Mainlogix: TimeXtension

In addition to Mainlogix, Josiah is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of TimeXtension, a France-based biotech startup focused on longevity and anti-ageing. He leads the development of AI-driven tools and a mobile platform that tracks biological ageing markers and delivers personalised health insights.

TimeXtension aims to extend healthy lifespans, improve quality of life, and merge biotechnology and artificial intelligence in transformative ways.

Milestones and Strategic Partnerships

Since its inception, Mainlogix has hit major milestones:

  • 2021: Secured $300,000 investment from Canadian international angel investors, facilitating expansion into North America.
  • Received additional funding from the Tony Elumelu Foundation and other partners, totalling $50,000.
  • 2023: Partnered with Amazon Alexa to integrate voice control systems.
  • 2024: Announced collaboration with Google Smart Speaker, enhancing device interoperability and voice control across platforms.
  • In 2024, Josiah was named to the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 list, affirming his impact in Africa’s tech ecosystem and beyond.
