Egyptian ed-tech startup Crafty Workshop has successfully raised $400,000 in a seed funding round, with the main investment coming from EdVentures. This funding will be instrumental in supporting the expansion of Crafty Workshop’s product offerings and its regional growth plans.

Founded in 2019 by Hadeer Shalaby and Amgad Moustafa, Crafty Workshop operates as an online learning platform, providing a diverse array of creative courses and workshops across various fields, including art, design, illustration, programming, game development, photography, and animation.

The $400,000 seed funding round was led by EdVentures, a previous investor in Crafty Workshop. The investment will be used to fuel the startup’s expansion efforts, particularly in the Gulf Region. Crafty Workshop has ambitious goals, aiming to broaden its content library to cover 500 subjects in creative industries by 2024 and create specialized products tailored for schools involved in creative productions.

Hadeer Shalaby, one of the founders, expressed their excitement about this investment, emphasizing that it will enable them to accelerate their growth and have a more significant impact in the educational technology space. Their plans include extending their reach to the Gulf Region, enhancing their content offerings, and improving the offerings designed for schools engaged in creative productions.

Maged Harby, the general manager of EdVentures, highlighted their continued support for Crafty Workshop. He mentioned that their initial investment in the startup back in 2019 marked the beginning of a successful partnership, and since then, Crafty Workshop has achieved substantial growth in both the Egyptian market and the Gulf region.
